The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 5,100 times in 2011. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people.

SUNDAY 22nd Jan – RED & BLUE @ Home
Blues 0 – Chacewater 5
Well the scoreline does not reflect what an exciting match it was to watch with great footballfor the whole 50 minutes.
Chacewater started well and within a few passes were already testing the goal. The Goats soon recovered and the game settled for a few minutes, but soon Chacewater worked a great set of passes and struck the ball home. The Goats were committing themselves to the tackle far too early and against players in the Chacewater team this was never going to be the way to defend. The second Chacewater goal was a fine shot from Jake who bent the ball around and advancing Danny with such speed that he was not even quick enough to dive for it . The Goats had a few chances at the other end, and should have clawed a few goals back but the luck was not with them for the final touch as the Chacewater goalie had the luck with him. At half time the score was 3-0 to Chacewater. In the second half the Goats were reminded how to defend by delaying and not by diving in and Joe played a great game keep out any play down the left side, and soon they were applying the pressure on the Chacewater goal for most of the second half and yeshe played a great game out on the Right wing as he recovered from a knock to his knee. But the Goats just could not get the ball into the net as Chacewater defended well. Two breaks from Chacewater resulted in the lead being extended to 5-0. It was a great match to watch and unlike the previous week, the football was worth watching.
Reds 6 – Newquay 2
Like the Blues, the match score did not reflect the tension and excitement of the match. Newquay only had 7 players while the Goats had 11. On a wet and sticky pitch this gave the Goats a distinct advantage as every 7 minutes 4 sets of fresh legs were put on the pitch. Over the 50 minutes the pace at which the Goats played took its toll, but Newquay never gave up and in the last 10 minutes found the energy to pass and muscle their way forward to strike two great goals. Congratulations to Sam P for his hatrick.
SUNDAY 22nd The Reds and Blues have league matches
Blues kick off first at 11.30 vs Chacewater and then Sausage and Chips afterwards. Come back and cheer on the Reds who will start Kick Off at 12.30pm against Newquay and afterwards its Sausage and chips for them.
Blue & Red Matches – 14th & 15th Jan AWAY
SAT 14th
Wendron Blue 1 – St Ives 4
Not a game worth remembering or dwelling on. We did not adapt our play correctly to suit the outside circumstances of the game that were not in our control. Matches like this will crop up from time to time and the players will have to use their intelligence and maturity to change their decision making and get to the final whistle as safely as possible and us coaches will get better at communicating and advising on the best way forward in these circumstances as the game is going on .
Blue – 12am kick off at St Uny Primary – Carbis Bay – Vs St Ives
Cameron can’t make new kick off time and if yeshe remains ill we will be playing 6vs 6 so please let me know ASAP if there is a problem with illness or injury.
Sun 15th
Wendron Reds 2 – Falmouth Rangers 1
This was a well played game that was end to end football, with a Falmouth Rangers team finding their form. The first Wendron goal was from a rare and unfortunate spillage by the Falmouth goalie that was pounced on for tap in goal. The Falmouth goal was from well worked passing interchange from the halfway line that skill fully by passed our defence and wrong footed our goalie. A goal that just look inevitable from the moment it started. In the last 10 minutes of play, Wendron managed to breakdown the Falmouth defence with numbers and skilled passing to finally get a clean shot on the goal and the shot was taken well. Then it remained to hold onto the lead for the last ten minutes which they managed to do.
