This is the blog for the Wendron Goats. This blog is for news and information about our team as we progress through our footballing careers. We are currently running two teams in Under 11 Kernow Leagues, one in the top league and one in a new league for newly formed teams.
The Wendron Goats ‘Blues’ is in the top U11 League and this year we finished 3rd. http://www.kernowleague.com/season/11-12/11/overall/.
The ‘Reds’ is a newly formed team and played in the new U11 Kernow League especially created for new teams, and came 2nd. http://www.kernowleague.com/season/11-12/13/overall/ .
At the end of the 2010/11 season we came 4th in the top league in Cornwall. http://www.kernowleague.com/season/10-11/8/overall/ . In the Under 9 age group of the Kernow Leaugue, we were finalist in the Cup, losing to the Charlestown Saints by 3 goals to 2 in a thrilling and close final. In the League we finished 5th in what was a very close League of 7 teams. http://www.kernowleague.com/season/09-10/5/
If anyone, boy or girl, in the area would like to come an join us they are more than welcome. We will be playing various local tournaments this year and they are a good opportunity for new players to get familiar with the squad. We train on Tuesdays from 5.30-7.00pm on our 3G all weather surface under floodlights , and on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of every month from 10-11.30am.
Even if you are not currently an under 11 player (u11 as of 1st Sept 2011), Wendron FC will still have a team in your age group. Either turn up on a Saturday morning or try here and call the relevant coach for your age group.
